A subdomain is a web address, which is under a main, or a root domain name. An example is something.domain.com, in which domain.com is the main domain, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Every single subdomain can have its own website and records i.e. apart from using the domain name as part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be completely independent and even hosted by a separate company. Using a subdomain could be very practical if you wish to have different web sites that are connected in some way. For instance, you can have an on-line store under the main domain and a forum under a subdomain so as to provide means for your clients to ask questions or share views regarding your products. The benefit of using a subdomain instead of a subfolder is that the sites are going to be separated, so you're able to update one of them or perform maintenance not affecting the other.

Subdomains in Web Hosting

Our web hosting packages will permit you to create hundreds of subdomains for every domain address hosted within your account without any difficulty. As long as the main domain is added, it will take 2 clicks to set up a subdomain and choose what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), set customized error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and much more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and control. By right-clicking on any one of them and by using instant access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that particular subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the amount of subdomains which you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you wish.
